Last weekend when we were strolling through Ginza (on the way to buy some Waffles) we saw a funny thing. On one side of the pedestrian crossing parked a van from which somebody was talking to the surrounding masses of passer-bys (obviously with the intent of convincing them that his party’s plans are the best). Ten meters away parked another van, who had turned his volume up a little more, apparently to block the other’s speech. The persons belonging to that van however didn’t bother to give a speech themselves. Instead they continuously played some music. The lyrics were just one sentence, repeated over and over with different intonation according to the background music. I can’t say I understood what they sang but it seemingly meant “vote for Mr/Mrs xyz!”
