It is about time to show you what our apartment looks like. It is a two room apartment with a kitchen, a balcony a bath and a toilet. This apartment style is called mansion here (perhaps because it seems to be as big as a mansion compared to the normal apartments?). The total area is about 40 square meters. The bed room (with a Mitubishi airconditioning system) is 6
tatamis big (for Japanese style rooms the measurement is the number of tatami mats, which are of standard size 0.9 m x 1.8 m). The living room is 4.5 tatamis.
Anyway here are some pictures:
Entrance (please take off your shoes here…)
Kitchen, including our wonderful electric cooking appliance
Balcony
Bed room and futon-beds
Living roomAs you can see we have some space for visitors, so if you bring sleeping bags etc. you are welcome to stay in our living room.

Hiya!
What's the thingie on the entrance door?
...and how often do you get to eat suhi? Jealous, because I could eat that stuff all day.
Have fun on your trip!

The thing on the door is a mailbox. Usually the bills go into this mailbox, while the advertisments go into the one in the entrance lobby. Very convenient :)
Sushi/Sashimi every day is good... for a while. After some time the raw fish is too much. But we don't eat it every day anyway, because there are many other Japanese dishes which are nice as well (and sometimes cheaper), like Tempura, Yakitori, Shabu Shabu (sp?) etc. I'll be back with some posts about Japanese food soon... :)
